Sierra Sacchi has big plans that involve purchasing the gallery she currently manages. All she's waiting for is the paperwork to be sent to her lawyer. In the meantime, she's setting up her very first art exhibition in the very gallery she's planning to purchase. When Jack Montgomery, a blast from her past, breezes into town, her future becomes less certain. The pair discover that besides having full-blown steamy chemistry, Jack is Sierra's new boss. As such, it seems her plans to own the gallery are shattered, and her very first exhibition may not even happen.
Brushing Off the Boss was a fun contemporary romance. The character development and world building were well done. Each character was fully developed and realistic while the descriptive prose allowed me to see the scenes described on the pages. Jack and Sierra seemed like opposites at the beginning but as their friendship and romance build, they find many things they have in common. I love the art aspect of the story and enjoyed reading about Jack and Sierra.
I enjoyed the author's writing style and found Brushing Off the Boss to be a quick, smooth read. I was never lost or confused about any part of the story. I love how the author tossed in a plot twist to keep the reader on their toes. It didn't detract from the romance and enhanced the story. I was drawn in, engaged, and entertained from beginning to end.
