My Review:

Crepe Capers is book 11 in the Wanda’s Witchery series, a spin-off of, and book 46 in the Haven Hollow series. Things are really crazy in Haven Hollow in this book. A PI has been hired to catch Wanda being less than truthful in her turning into a vampire. With fortuitous timing, Wanda and Astrid fall victim to a pair of cursed rings that swap them; Astrid becomes mortal and Wanda becomes a vampire. A blast from Lorcan’s past turns up, causing mayhem. The final straw? The same being using Maverick as a pawn in whatever game is being played, has now contacted Wanda with an incredible, but totally unhinged, offer.

Crepe Capers is another fantastic and fun novel in the Haven Hollow series. I love Wanda, Lorcan, and the entire crew. We don’t get a whole lot of the other Haven Hollows characters in this book but buckle up for a wild ride with those we do get to see. I loved the story, characters, setting, and writing.

The Wanda's Witchery series by J.R. Rain and H.P. Mallory is excellent. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters grow and evolve.

My Review:

Royal Ransom is the 41st book in the Haven Hollow series, and the fourth book in the Princess Procedural spin-off. I love how the focus of each book in the series is on a different character. Taliyah is the narrator for the Princess Procedural tales, and I really love her stories.

This book follows right on the heels of the eighth and final book in the Misty Hollows series, As the Crow Dies. Refugees from Misty Hollow are dropped at the doorstep of Haven Hollow. As they flow through the portal from the Winter realm, Fox stays behind and is unceremoniously kidnapped by Janara, the evil would-be queen. Now, Fox’s life is on the line, and Taliyah has been sent an unsavory ultimatum. Since she’s in line for the throne, Taliyah turns to someone who may be able to sneak her into Winter without involving anyone in Haven Hollow.

This installment is dark, gritty, and full of action as Taliyah works through several challenges all tossed into her lap at the same time. She has to try and come to terms with her Princess Olwen side, saving Fox and the entirety of the Winter realm, and rescue her brother’s soul. High costs are paid on this book, ones that will have a lasting effect throughout future books. If anyone can serve and protect, while resisting the evil that flows around them, it’s Taliyah and entire Haven Hollow cast of characters.

Royal Ransom is a wonderful fourth book in the Princess Procedurals series (and book 41 in the Haven Hollows series) by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters continue to evolve and bond.

Dead Reckoning is another great book in the Gwen’s Ghosts series. Full of twists and turns Gwen continues her investigation in locating a missing man. The police still don’t believe he’s missing, but Gwen’s affinity for seeing ghosts proves otherwise. The mystery is unique, and the authors are developing Gwen’s world well. I was engaged from the very beginning.

I enjoyed every single thing about this story. The setting is simple yet perfect for the story being told. The characters are three-dimensional, interesting, and written well. I'm excited to see where these extraordinary authors take us in the next book.

My Review:

The Dragon’s Fight is the epic conclusion to the Dragon’s Birthright series. Selena and Devon were on opposite sides of a very real problem until Selena’s sister does something horrific that sets the stage for something catastrophic. Now, the two must decide if they join the war or flee.

Selena is a strong heroine and Devon finally turns around and I can hail him as a great hero. There was nothing easy about what went on in book 3. Horrifying actions spilled blood, war was waged, and sides were chosen. The Dragon’s Fight is filled with twists, turns, and surprises the reader will enjoy and not see coming.

I enjoyed everything about this story. The setting is simple yet perfect for the story being told. The characters are three-dimensional, interesting, and written well. I am sad to see the characters go but I’m awfully glad I got to meet them in the first place.

My Review:

Dead and Gone is heart-stopping and full of twists and turns. The mystery is unique and the authors are developing it well. I was engaged from the very beginning. Gwen finds herself possibly in bed with a killer. She takes it upon herself to use her status as a mystery writer to insert herself into the town's gossip mill. Gwen wants to find out as much as she can about Victoria in hopes it will help reveal who may have wanted her dead.

I enjoyed every single thing about this story. The setting is simple yet perfect for the story being told. The characters are three-dimensional, interesting, and written well. I'm excited to see where these extraordinary authors take us in the next book.

This novella ends on a mild cliffhanger so be prepared.

Mermaid Mayhem is the first book in the new Misty Hollows series by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. While Misty Hollows is a spin-off of the wonderful writing duo’s Haven Hollows series, the setting, characters, and shenanigans are vastly different.

Misty Hollows is set in Louisianna and still under construction. Our main character is a mermaid who’s running from her past while trying to keep her true identity a secret. I love her spunk and how different she is from characters in Haven Hollow. In fact, all the characters in Misty Hollow are different, unusual, and fun.

The writing duo of H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain bring interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters do their thing.

My Review:

Selena’s captor is alluring and isn't all that he appears. There is a secret hiding within Devon. While Selena wants to believe he's a good person, she can't help but think about everything he's done in their short time together.

Book 1, The Good Daughter, ended with Selena being sold back to one of her sisters and tossed in a tower. Her savior came swooping in, all scales, talons, and wings. Just as she thought, Devon was hiding something back in book 1, but now he decides to reveal his secret…after he rescues her and flies her to safety.

Selena and Devon are on opposite sides of a very real problem. He’s a dragon shifter bent on making humans pay. She’s a human and, while she doesn’t condone the human violence against dragons, she also doesn’t agree with arbitrary destruction of humans. Unsure of where to go from there, Devon and Selena have some serious decisions to make. Their chemistry may not be enough to unite them.

Selena is a strong heroine and as much as I'd like to praise Devon as a great hero, he continues to do some pretty sketchy things in The Dragon Protector. He redeems himself at first but his and Selena’s views don’t align. The misalignment causes tension between the two of them, and between Selena and Devon’s clan.

I enjoyed every single thing about this story. The setting is simple yet perfect for the story being told. The characters are three-dimensional, interesting, and written well. I'm excited to see where these two extraordinary authors take us next.

My Review:

Dance with the Dead is heartstopping and full of twists and turns. The mystery is unique and the authors are developing it well. I was engaged from the very beginning while learning about how Gwen met Petra, a small amount of New York backstory, and how they ended up back in England.

I enjoyed every single thing about this story. The setting is simple yet perfect for the story being told. The characters are three-dimensional, interesting, and written well. I'm excited to see where these extraordinary authors take us in book two.

My Review:

I was so excited to get my hands on Blood Bond, Book 2 in Astrid’s Haven Hollow spin-off. I was NOT disappointed. I devoured this book.

I have loved the Haven Hollow series since book one. Full of wonderful characters, excellent storylines, and a perfectly created setting, I immerse myself in each and every book. There are multiple spin-offs that focus on one of the main characters, and Blood Bond is told from Astrid and Maverick’s POV. Astrid was finally able to go to Blood Rose Academy and be properly trained in witch magic. Things in book 2 have just gotten worse for Astrid. Maverick and Taliyah find themselves concealing their identities and infiltrating Blood Rose Academy to find Astrid.

I love Astrid's character and love that she got her own spin-off. Astrid is a wonderfully written character. She's so likable and her attitude and personality are vastly different than everyone else’s at Blood Rose. I love the twists and turns the authors take the characters and readers through.

The series also just continues to get better and better with every story. Blood Bond is the second book in the Blood Rose Academy series (and book 27 in the Haven Hollow series) by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters do their thing.

My Review:

Selena was banished five years prior for refusing to marry her father's choice for her when the time came. Now, Selena is on the run with her father, who's cognitive condition is in a constant state of declination. The Good Daughter begins with an emotional and heart-wrenching scene. The state of Uther hit me hard and drew on my own experiences caring for a loved one in his condition. My heart broke for Selena. 

Through their travels, Selena and Uther have managed to evade capture until they stop in one small village for rest and a meal. A band of mercenaries track and kidnap them, having been hired by one of Selena's sisters. What follows is a tale of deception and double-cross that has Selena twisted up in knots.

Her captor is alluring and isn't all that he appears. There is a secret hiding within Devon. While Selena wants to believe he's a good person, she can't help but think about everything he's done in their short time together. 

Selena is a strong heroine and as much as I'd like to praise Devon has a great hero, he does some pretty sketchy things in The Good Daughter.
