About the Book:

Shadow isn’t the type to mingle with people outside his world unless they owe him or the club something. But when his eyes land on a beautiful woman in need of a place to stay, he offers her shelter from the coming storm without a second thought.

Violet James needs a fresh start. She’s planned every detail—new job, new house, new city. But the one thing she didn’t expect was a hurricane to throw a wrench into everything. Stranded in a new city with no open hotel rooms for miles, she’s intrigued when a handsome biker offers her a safe place to stay.

Shadow never expected the woman to come with baggage in the form of an obsessive ex-boyfriend who will stop at nothing to get her back, including showing up at his club’s compound.
What starts off as a little fun to pass the time as a hurricane decimates the area around them turns into something deeper than either of them could’ve imagined. And Shadow will do anything to keep Violet safe, even if that means risking his life to save hers.

My Review:

Shadow’s Protection is the first book in the Hurricane Heat MC series and what a fantastic start to a new series. I’m a huge fan of MC romance and Shadow’s Protection checked all the boxes. Broody hero. Strong heroine. Crazy ex. Full protection. I loved Shadow and Violet. I was pulled into their story and captivated by their personalities, drama, romance, and complications. Their chemistry sizzles, the passion is raw, and emotions permeate the pages. I couldn’t put this story down. Perfectly composed, paced, and written, Shadow’s Protection will pull you in and keep you engaged.

#BookReview ~ Midnight by Cala Riley ~ #MCRomance #Romance

Midnight
The best and the worst thing happened to me when I was nineteen. I became the father to two beautiful twin girls, but it tied me to their mother. I never thought I would trust a woman again until I met her. Lainey. She's everything I should stay away from. Young, gorgeous, and comes with a lot of baggage. Not only does she work at my tattoo shop, but she is also my twin's nanny. So why can't I leave her alone?

Lainey
My only goal in life is to survive. When I walked into the Lotus MC club that night, that was the only thought on my mind. I had no idea what I was getting into until I met him. Midnight. Not only is he offering me a life raft, but there's more to him than the grumpy persona he puts on. When his life is thrown for a loop, I offer to jump in and help him. After all, he is my attractive boss who I owe my life to.

My Review:

Midnight is the fantastic fourth book in the Lotus MC series. The authors crushed the single father and the nanny trope. For the record, the authors also nailed the baby mama who uses the kids as pawns. As someone married to a man with a daughter, I saw firsthand how mothers use their kids to hurt fathers. It’s pathetic and disgusting and Midnight’s ex was aptly written and portrayed. I love the real-life elements I can relate to even when they aren’t the good elements.

Midnight is a beautiful and gritty MC romance, filled with suspense, action, and realism. The authors created a novel with all the feels. The description of the book pulled me in but the character-driven plot, outstanding character development and world-building, and writing style kept me engaged. I couldn't put the book down and read it in one sitting.

#BookReview ~ Wrath by Cala Riley ~ #MCRomance #CalaRiley #LotusMCSeries

 Wrath by Cala Riley

About the Book:

Wrath
All I have in life is my brothers and my club.
It's all I ever needed.
Until Tara.
Seeing her broken and bruised called to a part of me I thought was long dead.
She can't handle my brand of crazy though.
So I'll offer her the only thing I can.
My claim, but in name only.

Tara
Being a sweetbutt, I never let myself imagine finding my happy ever after within the walls of the Lotus MC.
It just wasn't done.
Until Wrath.
His claim was meant to save me, but it only left me feeling isolated.
He thinks I can't handle him, but he's wrong.
Underneath this damaged girl is a woman dying to burst free.
If only, I could break down his walls enough to explore it with him.

With danger lurking around every corner, will Wrath and Tara ever be able to overcome their insecurities and find solace within one another?

Check trigger warnings.

My Review:

Wrath is the excellent second book in the Lotus MC Series.

Wrath has never needed a steady woman in his life...until Tara. When she is attacked, Wrath claims her to protect and save her. Neither expected for their union to be the beginning of anything, let alone the breaking down of walls.

Wrath is a beautiful and gritty MC romance, filled with suspense, action, and realism. The authors created a novel with all the feels. I laughed and I cried. I worried and then felt immense relief. I was anxious and on the edge of my seat. The description of the book pulled me in but the character-driven plot, outstanding character development and world-building, and writing style kept me engaged. I couldn't put the book down.

For the record - I hate needles just as Tara does, but I have four tattoos. Medical needles and tattooing are 2 completely different animals. I could get tattooed everyday, but shots and getting blood drawn freak me out.

I can't wait for the next book about Colt.

#Review ~ The Wicked Truth: Madigan Wicked (The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside, Book 4) by Melissa Foster #MCRomance #DarkKnights

The Wicked Truth by Melissa Foster

About the Book:

What happens when you’re not looking for love, but it walks in the door?

Madigan Wicked’s heart is not up for grabs. She’s been there, done that, and she’s not going back for seconds. She pours her heart and soul into her family, her greeting card line, puppetry, and storytelling performances. But she’s not opposed to having a night of fun, and the gruff, sinfully hot, definitely-not-looking-for-love mysterious stranger she runs into at a bar might be just the right man to enjoy it with.

Ex-con Tobias Riggs has lost enough for one lifetime. The only family member in his corner doesn’t remember him, and the people who he thought would always be in his life, walked away. He’s just trying to make it through each day, and the last thing he’s looking for is any sort of connection. When chemistry ignites with the snarky, sexy storyteller, with lips he can’t stop thinking about, he gives in to a night of passion.

Though neither is open to love, it’s been known to bully its way into even the most resisting hearts. But can it survive the wicked truth of Tobias’s dark past?

My Review:

I devoured The Wicked Truth by Melissa Foster. Madigan and Tobias are spectacular characters separately and together. I was pulled into their romance from the second I read what the book was about.

I was completely engaged in Mads and Tobias's story. I loved Mads's spunk and sassiness and Tobias's grumpiness and his protector vibe. Their personalities intersected and I enjoyed how they interacted and the chemistry that popped off the book's pages. Mads and Tobias just fit together.

Melissa Foster wove a realistic and steamy romance in with drama, humor, and so much emotion. The emotions, chemistry, and steam explode around this couple. Melissa Foster has become my go-to for new/adult contemporary romance. I read everything I can get my hands on by this author.

Print Length: ‎ 107 pages

Amazon: https://amzn.to/3PkGAmZ

About the Book:

Nameless. Scarred. Broken. Nadir is intimate with the darkest corners of his soul.

Even a ruined man has a heart.

Kade Ryan understands everything about hitting rock bottom. Known as Nadir inside his local Utah MC chapter, Kade has little information of where he came from and who his family is meant to be.

During a raid to rescue women snatched from their homes by a rival club that deal with sex-trafficking, he discovers an abandoned infant. Reminded of his own history and unable to leave the child, Kade takes the baby to the only woman he trusts—his foster mother.

The abandoned infant isn’t the sole person of interest. Summer Holmes stands out amongst the rescued women from the rival club. More than out of place, Nadir is drawn to her, and claims her as his own despite the mistrust of his MC brothers.

But Summer knows something about Nadir that no one else does. She knows his name…

SPINNING GOLD is a standalone MC dark romance retelling of Rumplestiltskin.

My Review:

Spinning Gold is a dark MC romance fairytale retelling.

The Wicked Warriors in the middle of a turf war with the Dragons MC. When the Wicked Warriors plan an ambush on their rivals and retrieve stolen property, the weren't expecting to find a bunch of women. Instead of the Dragons ready for a fight, bound and abused women litter the floor. As Kade Ryan does a through run through of the building, he's also surprised to find a baby. Captivated by one woman, Summer Holmes, and the baby, Kade takes them to the one safe place he trusts. The same place where Summer learns who Kade really is and where he came from.

I enjoyed this fairytale retelling. Kade and Summer are wonderful characters. This novella was well-developed, kept me engaged, and palpable chemistry. This was a short and quick read and I highly recommend Spinning Gold.
