My Review:

Crepe Capers is book 11 in the Wanda’s Witchery series, a spin-off of, and book 46 in the Haven Hollow series. Things are really crazy in Haven Hollow in this book. A PI has been hired to catch Wanda being less than truthful in her turning into a vampire. With fortuitous timing, Wanda and Astrid fall victim to a pair of cursed rings that swap them; Astrid becomes mortal and Wanda becomes a vampire. A blast from Lorcan’s past turns up, causing mayhem. The final straw? The same being using Maverick as a pawn in whatever game is being played, has now contacted Wanda with an incredible, but totally unhinged, offer.

Crepe Capers is another fantastic and fun novel in the Haven Hollow series. I love Wanda, Lorcan, and the entire crew. We don’t get a whole lot of the other Haven Hollows characters in this book but buckle up for a wild ride with those we do get to see. I loved the story, characters, setting, and writing.

The Wanda's Witchery series by J.R. Rain and H.P. Mallory is excellent. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters grow and evolve.

My Review:

Dead Reckoning is book 5 in the Gwen's Ghosts series.

Dead Reckoning is another great book in the Gwen’s Ghosts series. Full of twists and turns Gwen continues her investigation in locating a missing man. The police still don’t believe he’s missing, but Gwen’s affinity for seeing ghosts proves otherwise. The mystery is unique, and the authors are developing Gwen’s world well. I was engaged from the very beginning.

I enjoyed every single thing about this story. The setting is simple yet perfect for the story being told. The characters are three-dimensional, interesting, and written well. I'm excited to see where these extraordinary authors take us in the next book.

Mermaid Mayhem is the first book in the new Misty Hollows series by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. While Misty Hollows is a spin-off of the wonderful writing duo’s Haven Hollows series, the setting, characters, and shenanigans are vastly different.

Misty Hollows is set in Louisianna and still under construction. Our main character is a mermaid who’s running from her past while trying to keep her true identity a secret. I love her spunk and how different she is from characters in Haven Hollow. In fact, all the characters in Misty Hollow are different, unusual, and fun.

The writing duo of H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain bring interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters do their thing.

My Review:

I was so excited to get my hands on Blood Bond, Book 2 in Astrid’s Haven Hollow spin-off. I was NOT disappointed. I devoured this book.

I have loved the Haven Hollow series since book one. Full of wonderful characters, excellent storylines, and a perfectly created setting, I immerse myself in each and every book. There are multiple spin-offs that focus on one of the main characters, and Blood Bond is told from Astrid and Maverick’s POV. Astrid was finally able to go to Blood Rose Academy and be properly trained in witch magic. Things in book 2 have just gotten worse for Astrid. Maverick and Taliyah find themselves concealing their identities and infiltrating Blood Rose Academy to find Astrid.

I love Astrid's character and love that she got her own spin-off. Astrid is a wonderfully written character. She's so likable and her attitude and personality are vastly different than everyone else’s at Blood Rose. I love the twists and turns the authors take the characters and readers through.

The series also just continues to get better and better with every story. Blood Bond is the second book in the Blood Rose Academy series (and book 27 in the Haven Hollow series) by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters do their thing.

My Review:

I have loved the Haven Hollow series since book one. Full of wonderful characters, excellent storylines, and a perfectly created setting, I immerse myself in each and every book. There are multiple spin-offs that focus on one of the main characters, and Blood Rose is told from Astrid's POV. She finally gets to go to Blood Rose Academy to be properly trained in witch magic. Astrid's world comes crashing down when she realizes the Academy isn't at all what she had hope it would be. She is on the end of a lot of hazing, and right in the middle of a feud between the witches and the vampires. Learning about missing Fae just adds to her misery. 

Astrid's book is by far one of my absolute favorites in the series. I love them all but Blood Rose was
exceptional. I love Astrid's character and love that she got her own spin-off. Astrid is a wonderfully written character. She's so likable and her attitude and personality is so different than the witches at Blood Rose. I'm excited to see how everything goes in the next book. Blood Rose left a lot of things hanging.

Day Dream is Book 6 in the Remarkable Remedies series and Book 21 in the Haven Hollows series. Following newcomer Sydney Blackstone, aka Sandman Syd, Day Dream almost seems like a standalone in both of the forementioned series'. The story focuses on more of the secondary characters as Syd tries to settle into his new life in Haven Hollow. Very different storytelling in Day Dream but yet completely intertwined in the Haven Hollow setting. 

I enjoyed Day Dream, learning about Syd, and following his integration into Haven Hollow. Day Dream is another fantastic and fun novel in the Remarkable Remedies/Haven Hollow series. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters do their thing.

Wanda has had a heck of a week. She brings something else to life (because the ghost and zombie weren’t enough) and it involves not only her magic but Maverick’s, too. Then, she received an invitation to Rupert’s lair and it’s not one she can decline. Looks like Wanda may become a vampire, after all.

Angora Alchemy is another fantastic and fun novel in the Haven Hollow series. I love Wanda and her motley crew. They aren’t your typical coven but that’s what makes them all so incredible. I was fully engaged in Angora Alchemy. I loved the story, characters, setting, and writing.

The Broken Mirror is the 13th book (fitting, I think) in the Haven Hollow series, but it’s also book 1 in the Remarkable Remedies spin-off. I love all the different books in the same world. In this book, Poppy’s day starts off incredibly bad. She breaks a mirror in her rush to get moving in the morning and her luck snowballs from there. When she discovers the 7-years-of-bad-luck curse if real and she’s living proof, she knows she must figure out how to break the curse.

In the middle of her crisis, a new customer seeks Poppy out for assistance. It would appear she purchased an antique mirror at a local estate sale that might just be haunted. Poppy is curious and when she inspects the mirror – yes, indeed, the mirror is haunted. A woman is trapped inside, reliving whatever horror trapped her in the first place. Poppy sure is going to be busy in The Broken Mirror.

Zombie curses, licorice witches and ghost children, oh, my!

When Luke Montague was hit by a truck, courtesy of Angharad’s witch magic, I was in shock. But, when he opened his eyes and looked up at me, saying “ma minette,” I knew my life would never be the same again.

And I was right.

But, even with Drake alive again, everything isn’t daisies and roses. No, far from it.

I’m still playing puppet on a string to Guarda (ahem, zombie puppet on a string) and important artifacts are still going missing throughout New Orleans, stolen at the hands of ghostly children. Hauntingly Happy: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel by H.P. Mallory

Hauntingly Happy is book 10 in the Midlife Spirits series featuring Peyton Clark series. Picking up where book 9, Making Spirits Bright, left off, Peyton finds herself face-to-face with a very dead Luke Montague. When Luke re-animates though, the person looking back at her is decidedly not Luke. If she thought her world was crazy now, it’s about to crank up a few more notches.

The ghost children are still stealing certain artifacts from various placed around New Orleans. Mysterious women keep popping up in Peyton's dreams, visions, and life. There is no end to the weird occurrences in this book. I love the crossover into another series by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. This installment of the series is fun, scary, and full of twists, turns, and surprises.

I love all the characters in this book. Petyon is a fantastic heroine. Drake, Maggie, Lovie, and Ryan make for a well-rounded support system for Peyton They are likable and complex. I enjoy the smooth and conversational writing style. The story is fun yet terrifying. I found this novella completely engaging, fast paced, and I couldn't put it down. The characters have grown throughout the series and the authors do a wonderful job writing them. The storylines in the book are not resolved, leaving the reader with a cliffhanger ending. I'm excited to read the next book.

It’s December 21 and the first night of the celebration of Yule!

Much to Lorcan’s feigned irritation, Wanda is in the midst of throwing a Yule celebratory party at one of his numerous residences within Haven Hollow.

But, yuletide exaltation is hardly on his mind. The only thing Lorcan can think about, other than the long and smooth line of Wanda’s delicate neck, is his Yule gift still awaiting her.

But, as with most things involving the vampire and the Blood Witch, not everything goes to plan.

My Review:

Lorcan is one of my favorites in this series and I'm so happy this novella was narrated by him. His relationship with Wanda is touchy but I love seeing the more romantic side of them. The Yule Log isn't without it's strife though, and now Lorcan has to try and undo the mistakes he makes at Wanda's Yule Celebration.

The Yule Log is a wonderful novella in the Haven Hollow series by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. My Review:

Something is loose in Haven Hollow. The stranger is going house-to-house peering into bedrooms all through town. No one knows what he wants since no one can seem to catch him. In the meantime, Henner reports strange goings-on in the Tayir Mansion. His housekeeper suddenly disappeared and there's so much blood in one of the rooms, one can only suspect foul play. Plus, the group discovers a recently breached void in the mansion's laundry room. Now to figure out who or what breached the void. To make matters a bit more uncomfortable, Roy is still pining for Poppy and Marty seems to be taking his adoration up-a-notch since Poppy and Roy broke up. 

Poppy is a wonderful character. The town of Haven Hollow is mysterious and full of interesting characters. Haven Hollow is also in danger. The characters just can't figure out from whom or what. Figuring it out takes an act of bravery on Poppy and Wanda's account.

Mystic Veil is a wonderful fourth book in the Poppy’s Potions series by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters do their thing.

All Hallow’s Eve is book 10 in the Haven Hallow series by HP Mallory. This quick novella is told from the POV of Astrid. We get to see Astrid close-up and learn more about her. Halloween is coming up soon and Astrid is lonely. She was kicked out of the same coven as Wanda, so Samhain festivities aren’t the same. When her banished brother Maverick calls her up, she’s happy to hear from him. They meet outside of Haven Hollow and Astrid discusses possible Samhain gifts for Wanda with Maverick. He suggests his newest potion to allow Wanda to view her past lives. Astrid prepares the concoction and spikes Wanda’s drink, then all hell breaks loose.

All Hallow’s Eve is a wonderful book in the Haven Hollow series by H.P. Mallory and J.R. Rain. I love visiting Haven Hallow and really enjoyed this adventure. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters do their thing.

My Review:

French Country Frights is a new book in the Haven Hollow series but also book 1 in Hallowed Homes. Fifi is the star of this story and I enjoyed getting to know her a bit more. The cast of usual players are scattered about throughout the story but they don't get very much screen time. 

Fifi is now the owner of Hallowed Homes (formerly Hallowed Realty) after the previous owner, night hag Ophelia, was taken out of commission a few books ago. She's trying to reach out to more exotic clientele to solidify her business. That all spirals out of control when she shows up to a showing at the graveyard for Darragh, a grim, and his assistant, Cranough and finds them both dead.
